The Body
Put on a washing
Put cookies out of the sun
today tiptoes thoughts go
waiting for the body as a bus,
waiting to go somewhere in it
waiting for the body as a bell to ring, signaling something
waiting for the body as a sea, to climb up the sand
waiting for the body as a fall, to land
waiting for the body as a call, to connect
waiting for the body as a friend, to arrive
waiting for the body as a birthday, again
waiting for the body as a melody, for a song
waiting for the body as a
stranger, to belong
waiting for the body as a curtain, to open
waiting for the body as a lover, to come
waiting for the body like someone sleeping
waiting to tell them the thing
is waiting
